The company’s first manufacturing site was built in Brooklyn, Melbourne producing Aluminium Sulphate (Alum) for the pulp & paper and water & wastewater treatment industries. The Brooklyn plant still operates today and continues to service many of its original customers among a significantly increased client base.
Since inception, the company has expanded throughout the eastern states of Australia, increasing the number of manufacturing sites to five including the completion of its state-of-the-art Chlor-Alkali plant in Laverton which incorporates Omega Chemicals’ Customer Service Centre.
The business has grown to include the manufacture and supply of Ferric Sulphate (Megaclear 12), Polyaluminium Chloride (Megapac 10), Aluminium Chlorohydrate (Megapac 23), Ferric Chloride, Sodium Hypochlorite (MegaCHLOR), Hydrochloric Acid and Liquid Caustic Soda as well as custom blends of these. Today Omega Chemicals has the largest manufacturing capacity for the production of Alum and Aluminium Chlorohydrate in Australia.
